There can be a misconception of exactly how much cleaning/sweeping a fireplace and chimney actually needs. Or what the difference between a chase cover and a chimney cap are when it comes to the repairs or replacement of each on your home or commercial building. Chimney Sweep should be performed at least once a year or every 30-40 fires.
Chase covers fit over your chimney chase so that it prevents water from gaining access to your chimney.
Chimney caps are the piece that seals the flue system that also protects your chimney case from rain, animals and debris.
If you look around, you have seen these stainless steel chimney caps or chimney chase covers that prevent these elements and/or animals from entering into a chimney.
Replacing your chase cover with a stainless steel option, preferably one that has a warranty, will extend the life of your chimney system on your residential or commercial building.
At Heritage Chimney of Asheville, we offer our customers several options to include custom chimney caps and chase covers in WNC specifically designed for your chimney made from stainless steel, white aluminum, black aluminum or copper.
There is no job too big or too small and all our services are performed by the highly trained and certified members of the Heritage Chimney team for more information on chimney cleaning and repair or to schedule an appointment. Give us a call today!
A chimney damper is a device that seals your chimney shut when it is not in use. This device prevents the heated air from escaping up your chimney when it is not in use and if you have an inoperable or leaky damper, then you are losing money on your heating costs.
Located in Asheville, NC and serving all of WNC, Heritage Chimney offers professional chimney damper installation for your home or business.
Older types of dampers have a metal-to-metal seal, whereas newer types of dampers are sealed with a silicone gasket which seals warm air 90% more effectively.
These new energy saving chimney dampers are not only effective, but they are a long lasting solution.
Also, this type of energy-saving damper protects your chimney from water damage during the times that the fireplace is not in use and keeps animals from entering the chimney.
